The Bookcliffs units located in eastern Utah is high desert areas with terrain unlike any other unit in the state. As the name suggests it is famous for its rugged cliff lines that are broken up and look like books on a shelf. The mountain is broken into two units, The Bittercreek and The Roadless.
Bookcliff Roadless
As the name suggests this unit is completely roadless. We conduct these hunts with horses and mules and stay in a wall tent camp in a remote part of the unit.
The unit has large canyons that run through it and are all connected by horse trials.
You can expect to ride several miles a day as we glass and cover the canyons in search of trophy bulls.
This unit is being managed for 7 year old bulls.
We're not saying it will be easy but 340” plus bulls are possible on this hunt.
Lodging is a comfortable wall tent camp with large cots, foam bedrolls, and traditional western cooking over a fire.
5 day hunts- meals and lodging included $8,000
Extra days $500 per day.
Observer fee of $750 per person
This includes horse, meals, and lodging.
Bittercreek Unit
The Bittercreek unit or as we call it the “roaded unit” is located on the north part of the mountain range. This area is a lot of open country with good road access. We will use Toyota trucks and side by side atvs to conduct these hunts.
A typical day will usually entail driving around to multiple glassing locations covering as much country as we possibly can.
This unit is being managed for 4-5 year old bulls, clients can expect to hunt bulls in the 300-330” range.
Lodging on this is typically a wall tent camp on top of the mountain that you can access by truck.
