The La Sal Mountains are located on the Utah/Colorado border near the town of Moab. The layout of the La Sal is a little different than any of the mountain’s we hunt. The La Sal has several cone shaped peaks that quickly rise up to 12,000’ from the plateau below.
You will find elk in the high alpine country all the way down to the desert floor.
Typically, on this hunt throughout the week we use a mixture of transportation. We will use horses and mules to get us into the more remote areas as well as side by side to get us to various other hunting spots. This hunt can be tailored to suit your needs as well. If horses are not your thing, we can conduct the whole hunt using trucks and side by sides and still have a quality experience.
This unit is currently being managed for 5-year-old bulls, which typically fall in the 315-340” mark.
We are also able to offer first class accommodations on this unit.
Co-owner Coby Hunt has a family cabin located in the heart of the unit where we conduct most of our hunts out of. Here we will have soft beds, hot showers, and great food during your stay.
